The 1/2 tons had a curved-out grille, and the radiator cap was under the hood. The rear (4.88:1) differental housing was centered, and all 1/2 tons had single-speed transfers. The 3/4 tons had a flat grille, cap through the shell, and an offset (5.83:1) rear differental. Early 3/4 tons had a single speed transfer, later ones had a 2-speed, but a lot of them were upgraded upon rebuild to the hi-lo box. There was no 1-ton military Dodge 4X4. The 6X6 WC-62 or 63 was a 3-axle, 1-1/2 ton rig. It too looked like the 3/4 tons, and shared a lot of the same drivetrain parts. PS>>>The very early 1/2 tons were "VC" models, just preceeding the "WC" models. (The WC doesn't mean "Weapons Carrier", BTW. It is just a Dodge factory designation) The VC-series is told by the use of civilian fron sheet metal, and a non-Budd type wheel, with little studs. I hope this helps with your quandry. DG
