I guess they could be called a "1 ton", after the Civilian PW, but the drive train of the 601's was the same as the WW2 3/4 ton WC late series. My information pertains just to military-type Dodges in US service. The M600-series numbers applied to a bunch of different rigs in the Foriegn Military Assistance Program of the early '50s, and numerous instances for confusion can occur! At least one example of a "returned" 601 came up from Mexico some years ago, and I saw it being towed through Yuma, Az, from San Luis, RC, Sonora. DG
