For those late 51 through early 56 models with the big spur gear trans you have to look at the base of the transmission shift lever tower for wear marks into the transmission cover from the cab transmission floor cover. You need to raise the cab about 3/8ths of an inch above for good clearance, otherwise it's a noisy ride. 1 inch thick industrial rubber gave good clearance for my 56 truck. Thanks Greg!
