Hi All,
Bought a winch in pieces and trying to get it back together correctly. I'm 90% there. Trying to figure out the orientation of the brake band cover/position of the spring hole. I think I've read that it need to be oriented correctly to work properly. I looked everywhere but can't seem to find this detail in a picture form.
For the band adjustment...the shorter non sprung threaded rod, how do you tell how much to thread it on so that the spring end can be adjusted properly.
Lastly, I've read multiple posts about adjustment and it seems how warm the cover gets is the best way to tell if adjusted properly. Open to suggestions though. I may not have the right book but I can't find any info on the winch assembly and adjustments.
