How many different transmission mounting patterns were there for the 230-251 engine?
I have a early crashbox transmission, it has it's own pattern. I have a non-synchro transmission with a 1955 casting date that has a much bigger front bearing retainer and won't fit the hole in the bellhousing. I have a NP420 that has the right size bearing retainer size but the bolt pattern is different.
I want to use the NP420. Any help would be appreciated.
