Ha! I've never been what one might call an expert skier. I learned how to ski because I was a surfer in my younger life until moving to Idaho. Our local Schweitzer Mountain ski area is not high enough (5000+') to have consistent powder, although I have skied in 18-24" of fresh powder and it was truly beautiful to experience. Especially when we were the first ones to find it.
The groomed areas can allow for a guy like me to get a little out of control and then you do find out how "toughened up" you are. :)
I'm 6'2" and back then around 220# and crashed a lot. However, I had a good friend who was 6'8" and close to 300# who skied like he was born with skies instead of feet. I never once saw him crash. So I can't blame my size for my ungraceful skiing. :_)
