Stripping wheel residue

The plastic matrix stripping wheels are great at removing and some rust, but they leave a residue. My guess is that it is melted plastic. Anybody know how to get it off? Acetone does not work, and a wire wheel kinda works and it takes a long time, and I am never really sure if all the residue is gone.
