I came across this highly edited mid 50's PW for sale on marketplace and noticed that my 1946 WDX has nearly the identical custom fair-lead installed above the winch right down to the bolt locations and the curved radiator cowl protection.

My truck originated in Upstate NY approximately 2 hrs away from where this one is located. My truck came with an A-frame which I believe is the reasoning for the modification.

As I understand it, Mohawk Electric had a sizeable PW fleet. Either way, more than likely these both may have been line trucks of similar origin.

Would appreciate to know if any Ups-tater's have seen similar fabrication to this?
I interested in narrowing down the origin of this unique modification.
