57 PW PTO/Brake Pedal Bracket Issue??

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 57 PW I�m restoring. So the engine & transmission are in the truck & I realized I hadn�t installed the brake pedal or the brake pedal bracket. So I took it over to the truck�no way it will fit? So I spent about an hour measuring & scratching my head�there needs to be 6� clearance to make room for that bracket & that�s for basically a tight fit. Mine there�s 5-1/2� of clearance?? So I talked to DC in Medford because I thought I must have either the wrong PTO or wrong transmission�the PTO the only casting number is 12533. The casting number on the NP420 is C 91931 & it�s dated 8 23 57
Dave thinks it looks correct but it doesn�t fit?
So the transmission is centered in the frame, the bellhousing bolts are in & the rubber blocks with the sleeves are in place & no go?? So I lifted the bellhousing up until there was a good 1/2� between the frame brackets & the ears on the bellhousing & with it raised that high..the bracket will just barely fit but it�s touching the PTO?
What�s wrong? Can anyone tell from pics what�s going on here?
