we are talking about old design (60 + year old engineering) 4 or 6 wheel drives straight connections no special stuff in gear boxes any variation in tire rolling circumference will cause binding in the driveline somewhere - ok in slop, loose rock, gravel, etc because wheel spin will take care of it BUT on hard pavement what happens ??
does not want to come out of 4wd ??
put a mark on all 4 tires at the bottom, mark the floor/ground same spot - move vehicle until one of the marks is on the bottom again
then measure the distance between lines on floor - that is the loaded rolling circumference - now see where the other 3 or 5 tire marks are - you can see if you have any diff in circumference - not rocket stuff
