Penetrol question - Bill W are you there?

I'm glad to see someone else uses penetrol. When I was growing up on the farm we painted everything first with penetrol, then with enamel paint. It lasted for years.

I'm just starting to sandblast my duece. I have been doing a section followed by painting with penetrol. My questions are:
1. Do you think I can get away with penetrol only as the primer?
2. Do I have to get bare metal everywhere or can I leave those areas with relatively good paint intact?
3. How many tons of abrasive did you use one that beauty you restored?
4.. How many gallons of Paint? I was thinking of ordering some this week.
