Back when I was a teen I did an internship as a machinist at a fabrication shop. We made an antenna mast to go on a building. They discussed putting in some "lightning holes". I thought it was a stupid idea, the lightning will flow right on through the metal. :D

Go ahead, ask me about Dad telling me about the Pee Trap under the bathroom sink....
