Disregard the 1-3/8ths, that applies to the front. Are the axles your using from an early two or late four pinion carrier axle housing? If two, you have to take 1/32 off the end to avoid interference with the pinion shaft block according to Zentmyer's Power Train Interchange Manual. I'm not sure why you having to take a 1/2 off, something doesn't seem right.
