check valve in the fuel pump is either varnished or stuck open with debris, causing gas to siphon back out of the line to the carb and sometimes even the float bowl causing hard starting after it sits a while, run b-12 chemtool thru the tank to dissolve any varnish and i use seafoam in every tank especially when sitting thru the winter. should be an easy solve, good luck
