I have a scout 2 with a holley 1945 carburetor that I don't drive very often. If it sits for week the carburetor bowl is empty and I have to crank it a long while to refill the bowl and then it starts great. If I drive it every few days it starts right up no problem. I always thought it had a leaking plug or something but I have set it on a paper towel on the work bench for a week and nothing under it. I guess it is losing fuel to evaporation but I have owned plenty of other carburetors and never had this problem. Maybe I drove them more but I don't think so. Anyone experience this with a carburetor engine? If it is evaporation is there anything that can be done other than an electric priming pump? I was always a little worried that fuel was leaking and that it could be going down the intake and ultimately getting past the rings and diluting the oil.
