How to preseve original paint on Power Wagon

My '48 has the original paint (what is left of it) but mainly the original hand lettered doors of first owner still there where he used it in his business. Thankfully the last say 25 years it was inside but i want to know what to use to try and preserve all the paint to include doors. I hate the word patina so i will say i want to save the history of the truck rather than the patina. Thank you
