Since all the PWs I bought were loooong unregistered, I had to get them weighed and have DMV verify the number. For the ones that had papers by block #, I pointed to the door tag or frame number. No problem.

Kalifornia is not too bad on old trucks. I've registered them with no papers except hand written bills of sale. Must have IDs and addys of buyer and seller, date, price, mileage, frame/vin.
