Took it off this morning and apart, cleaned and looked at parts. All bushings good, brushes were probably half with good springs but here is i think the problem. The armature mica grooves were smooth.....like couldn't feel them with fingernail. In fact the whole end felt like it had been clear coated and smooth as glass. I would think armature had been turned and mica grooves were never re cut after this. Whats the best thing to try and re cut them a hacksaw blade broken and ground to fit?
