In various books, service manuals, etc., I see references to 318-LA, 318-1, 318-3. How do they differ? Also, I never see reference to a 318-2. Is there such an engine?
I have a 1967 W300 and I believe it has the original engine. In "The Standard Catalog of 4 x 4's" it refers to the '67 engine as the "Premium" engine. Is this the 318-3?
Which engine would have been in the truck originally?
Sometimes NAPA (and other parts stores) have trouble when they look up parts for my '67 W300 because of engine ID. For example, the other day I was looking for spark plugs. They had a listing for 318, 318LA, and 318HD. I assumed mine was the 318HD, which I believed to be the "Premium". IS this correct?
