Desoto Hemis are similar to the '54 and earlier 331 Chrysler engines. There were high (330,341,&345) and low (276, 291) block engines. All Desoto engines were smaller and lighter than the Chryslers, being roughly an inch less in all dimensions. IAW Tex Smiths Hemi engine manual :)
