W series tire question

I need to know the tallest tire and widest I suppose that I can stick underneath a 66 W200.
I was wondering if the wheel wells would support 36 or 38's or would they need to be cut? No lift kit just stock.
I was thinking of buying another set of super swamper boggers for this truck, it has 16.5 solid rims and is somewhere about 8 inches wide. What do you have on your truck?
