repost of to diesel or not to diesel

I posted this message in the last forum, but missed any replies due to the refresh

Looking to repower with a V-8 or 4bt. The guys at helo-tool do not recommend diesles due to a lack of power and excessive vibration.

Charlie and a few others believe the 4bt has plenty of power.

My truck has non power wagon axels with a lower ration. I would either keep them or swap in some WC axels with a center rear diff.

I want everything, ie, be able to run at 70-75 with the power to turn 36-40 inch tires. I live in the land of mud and sand, no rocks here, so wheel spin is often needed.
