I’ve thought about it too. There are two places near me in Mass that do it. I called both and spoke to them about it. One said absolutely not; that it would warp to hell. The second said there would be virtually no chance of warpage and it would be about $600 (that was a sight unseen estimate). His only concern is that the zinc might not be able to get between the inner and outer C of the frame. I forget exactly what he said but I think they wanted an eighth inch to guarantee flow. My boat trailer which is 30+ years old and constantly in and out of salt water is in much better shape that my 9 year old pickup which gets washed after every snow storm so it’s appealing to me. Sand blasting alone in my area is $1000 and then you still have to epoxy and paint it which isn’t cheap either. With hot dipping I’d knock down the heavy/loose rust with a wire wheel and send it.
I didn’t ask about it but the company that was for it also offers processes that color and/or coat the galvanizing so it’s black.
