My '68 W300 has a hydraulic clutch (master/slave cylinder). I always disliked that system, but figured I was stuck with it.
While under the truck recently, I noticed a cable with a clevis type connector on each end. One end is near where the clutch rod comes through the firewall and the other end is down near the clutch arm that protrudes from the bell housing.
So I am wondering if the clutch was originally cable activated and the previous owners (Forest Service/Fire Service) converted it or if it was an option when the truck was purchased new?
Any thoughts?
