I looked up the inner oil seal for the front axle and saw that it was 2-12-8 in my Dodge parts book. So when I ordered the corresponding part from the PIF I thought I'd be OK. They just arrived and I see that they are only 1/4" wide, whereas my old one is 1/2" wide. I now see that further down the page the same dodge dart number appears with a different replacement number and those are National part 410451 (double reinforced) or CR 14864 (single lip). I also note that they are .437" & .313" wide respectively. Why are there 2 sizes (narrow and wide) and which should I be using? It was my understanding that the sizes here are critical.
