Off Subject, Diesel Automatic

Does anyone know if the 2002 Dodge diesel automatic transmissions have been upgraded? I have a 2000 I'm thinking of trading in. I haven't had any problems but have heard horror stories form others. One plus for the 2002 is that the 100,000 mile warranty extends to the whole driveline, not just the engine. Appreciate any input.
