If the motor does absolutely nothing when you applly power, the capacitor isnt the prpblem. If the motor hums and tries to start, the capacitor is a more likely culprit.
Eliminate any possibilities of no power going to the motor before focusing on the capacitors. A lot of single phase motor contactors have thermal overloads built into them. Use a meter to verify you have 240 volts leaving the contactor (or switch) to the motor.
