I have had good luck so far with e rated lt truck tires after lots of trouble with hercules trailer tires. I used some old used truck tires that I had laying around and in 5-6000 miles I can't see any wear. I was going to buy a matching set of new truck tires but now I am probably getting the Goodyears. The tires I bought are going on a small enclosed trailer so not nearly the test my deckover gooseneck will be. I used to never see people with flats on the side of the road and in the last 5-10 years I seem to see more and more. New cars don't let you run low air pressure so either tires are getting worse (imported) or people run them longer I figure.
There are times to save money but I feel like tires are not one of those. Between the danger of a blowout at speed and then changing them on the side of a road filled with inattentive drivers, money spent on tires might be the best investment I have ever made.
