What are the dimensions of the latest socket you were thinking of grinding? Was it for ignition switches?

Snap-On has a socket with 4 nubs (for the lack of a better description) on it that looks identical to the pict you posted earlier only the 2 additional nubs. the socket has a 1" O.D. & the nubs are a hair under 1/4". Maybe this will work for you? Merry Christmas!
