1975 W200 ignition problem

Started stalling as soon as I let off the ignition switch. It's been intermittent up to this morning. Gave me time to order a new switch and buy another steering wheel puller (where do those things hide?) until it needed to be changed.
So I spent the day changing out the ignition switch. Definitely not book time. Started out below zero, so I took a few coffee breaks. Anyway, got it all back together and it's not fixed. Still dies when I let go of the switch. It'll stay running as long as I hold the key forward. Might get me to work that way, but.. no. I'm kind of stumped. All the answers I got before pointed to a faulty switch.

Does anyone here have an idea what is causing this?
