I am curious. I have a set of bed rails that I discovered were about 1/2 longer than the original rails on my 1948. I discovered this when i was picking out the best 5 and as I recall, the holes in the frame didn't line up. did you have any issues with bed fitment, 1949 frame and 55 bed? I used the original rails and I did mark the holes for the bed sides with the wood off the truck. It was still a challenge getting it all lined up.
