I've been thinking about getting the driveshafts balanced in my '49 Power Wagon - only the short one and the rear one, since I have locking hubs on the front and won't ever drive with the front shaft engaged at more than slow off-road speeds.
Some guys say balancing makes a significant difference in these trucks. I have driveline vibrations, nothing real bad, but I figure this might help.
However, I'm wondering if it's going to be a moot point because the balance is going to change every time I regrease the shafts, especially the slip yoke. Depending on how the grease gets distributed, the balance may be different each time I grease it.
Any thoughts?
