A power booster makes zero difference to the actual braking of the vehicle, only that it reduces the amount of pressure required at the pedal to receive the same braking. It’s a commonly misunderstood thing. Think of a brake booster the same as a power steering unit. Will it make it easier to steer...yes. Will it steer better? No, the steering is unchanged.
The hydrovac is a simple unit & so it’s really just a matter of whether you can get a kit for it, does it need to be sleeved or is the bore clean & also occasionally the diaphragm is torn or damaged...most send them for rebuilding & the guy I use is in Canada so he’s not going to be the best guy for you likely.
It’s a good addition since you have the parts but make no mistake...your brakes will not stop the truck any quicker.
