Hi Ed,
Real "old gas" would last about 6 months before starting to turn bad, because of condensation and the instability of the chemical additives. Gasoline made since 1998, especially in the Peoples Republic that you and I live in [CA], has the oxygenated and low emmisions additives. These additives start to go bad in about 3-4 weeks. I have an idea that stabil and other additives may not work on these new and "improved" versions of PC gasoline.
