Anyone have to tap their starter to make it go?

This truck has had an issue that sometimes you need to give the starter a light tap or two to make it decide to go. This has not been a real issue and it seemed like it was getting less often, so I'd pretty much signed it off to a dirty commutator.

Its starting to occur more often again.

Not great timing on its part.

I'm afraid to take it apart because every time I do that, I end up with truck all over for weeks. And I don't have weeks to spend right now.

So i guess I'm asking to see if this is a common issue or not?
