My second PW is for sale (I live in CA) and I have a buyer in Colorado that is interested. We have agreed on a price, pending transportation arrangements. I have the equipment to trailer it easy enough, but we haven't quite figured out what is fair to both of us for the cost of transportation. He is in a tough spot (buying a truck sight unseen can be risky) and I don't want to trailer it out there then have the deal get nixed (wasted time and $$$ isn't fun). It is easy enough to say I have represented the truck accurately, but, you can never tell what the potential buyer may think on the other end once he sees/drives it. My suggestion was for him to give me a non-refundable $500 transport fee prior to my departure. Once in Colorado, if he still likes the truck, fine...he hands over the agreed upon price. If not, I put it back on the trailer and head home.
Any thoughts/suggestions on this would be appreciated, as I want to be fair to both parties.
thanks
Leonard
