Yes, the bushings in the yokes are pressed in, the link (wire) is there to keep the bushings on when the clamps are taken off and the shaft is removed from the vehicle. DO NOT THROW THE LINK AND RETAINERS AWAY, use those on the new UJ bushings. If you've never replaced a UJ, take the shafts to a driveline shop and have them do it.
