I am in the process of rebuilding my '51 230. It was just bored .020 over and I've got the pistons back in it. The new rings have a 4 piece oil ring on the third groove. This consists of a wavy spring like spacer that goes on first and then two thin scraper rings over that and a spacer that goes between the two scraper rings. I didn't have any trouble putting the pistons in with the ring compressor as they went in like normal. It just seems a little stiff when I turn it over. I put a torque wrench on the crank nut and it seems to take around 55 ft. lbs. to turn it over. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and wouldn't think as much of it if it had the one piece oil ring like the old piston did. The ring end gaps were good also. I cant remember using 4 piece oil rings before, only 3 piece. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks, Geoff
