The 1/2 ton uses 1-5/16 - 16 splines, the 3/4 WC ton uses 1-3/8 - 16 splines. Also the mounting surface face of the 1/2 will require machining 1/16 off to compensate for the axle center line between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton if used in the rear. You also must reduce the axle housing studs from 7/16 to 3/8 to match that of the 1/2 ton. This all can be expensive and the end result is weaker pumpkin and gears. Not a good dollar value in the long run. What are you trying to achieve?
