Galen,
Scrape off as much as you can with a good putty knife. When it gets down to a thin layer, most generally, Kerosene will take the rest off. Kerosene is what most bug and tar removers is made of. You just pay a lot more for the pretty containers. Sand blasting doesn't work well because the undercoating softens the blow of the sand (slows it down if you will) Hope this helps, Kevin
