Galen, where are you from?
Not much irrigation here in the corn loving midwest. In fact, field tile is installed to drain excessive water from the fields in a lot of operations.
As to the ethanol debate, I've found that it gives my trucks more power and worse mileage.
Our fuel comes in three flavors- 87, 91, and 93 octane. The 87 is regular. The others are 5% ethanol added. We also have 10% ethanol at seperate pumps and even 85% in a few places.
I have had similar experiences with fuel as Clint. I put Stabil in my small engines but my trucks sit for long periods without running and never seem to have fuel issues..
