Just my two bits - but it sounds like the sentimental value will outweigh any price you can get for it. I'm 50 and ever since I was a kid I've probably thought at least once a day for just a second that I'd sure like to have gotten my grandpa's WC before he sold it in the '70s.
Nothing wrong with selling a rig if the money is really needed, of course. Photos will help determine a ballpark value. Late model, fairly recently running, no rot, clear title, and winch all sound good to me. Terrible location though - because it's far from me.
Fuel system, battery, and brakes are usually the first problems to fix - not hugely expensive but they aren't the most fun imho. Until you get it going, and that first drive is amazing. As long as it doesn't blow up, and the brakes don't fail. I'm joking, that almost never happens. Seriously - it's a chunk of equipment so like anything else, safety first. Especially with the winch.
Lack of knowledge won't stop you - it just makes us think harder and ask dumb questions. And sometimes even read the manual, in extreme cases. There are knowledgeable people here that are willing to help. If you keep it, by time you have the truck going good you will have learned a lot of the basics and made some friends. And you might understand your grandpa and the times he lived in differently than you do now.
Not trying to guilt-trip you into keeping it though. In the end, it's "just a truck".
