so I set the plug gaps to 0.035.
checked all wiring, connections.. the only thing that was semi-not tight was the lead wire from the coil to the distributor body.
And it wasnt loose. Just not really snug. perhaps that was it.
In any case, I think the high rev "miss" is now gone! Ill keep my fingers crossed anyway, for awhile!
I still will explore the timing, that is, what was suggested, retard it a bit to 4-6 degrees before TDC. and see what that does to performance. The little 218 is gutless at this point, but in all fairness, its a brand new rebuild and probably pretty tight still..
