Do you "set it and forget it" or do you advance until it starts knocking on hills and then back off a hair? Anything wrong with the latter method?
When I was driving my '67 Chevy truck back and forth between N. Idaho and the coast a lot, I discovered that I could go with about 2 deg more advance on Idaho gas than on Washington gas. Something about the Washington anti-smog formula made it knock easier.
While we're on the subject, what do you like for advance on a stock slant 6?
