door body lines

Ok guys, Im trying to line up the lines in the door and cab on the drivers side of my flat fender.the gap at the front is pretty consistent but in the back the horizontal lines in the door are 3/4 inch lower than the ones in the cab.. Nothing looks tweaked and massaging the hinges will only make the front worse and the rear will still not be right.. Has anyone cut the b pillar end of the cab free from the floor to try to lower it? I know the drivers doors were never great, but this will bug me if I don't fix it.
