On some engines where the pump is driven by a skinny little shaft, the shaft won't take the torque of trying to make 100 psi with cold oil at 7,000 rpm. Break a shaft and you'll have 00.0 psi until you replace the shaft.Thats why they have pressure relief valves- usually set about 45 psi..
