The 251 needs almost nothing to make it one of the nicest engine ever concieved . Dad drove Chryslers with 251's and I've seen the speedometer sit past 100 mph for miles at a time . He was a mechanic and did his own repairs ,so he knew what they would take and how to drive them . The 230 on the other hand has a rod bearing that is too small and it is easy to see why increasing the oil flow around the main could in turn keep more oil to the rod . I would say it would worth a try ,however I see no need to plug the squirt hole .
