tire balancing

Now that I have my PW on the road I'm bothered by the way it handles, or bumps around. The Power Kings I have are bias ply tires and they get flats when sitting. I never balanced them, and I'm wondering if it makes much difference. Wondering what others do with their tires to make them more tolerable at higher speeds.
