check out your distruibutor

Also check your ground on the ignition module like you suspect, on the distruibutor, I had a 72 charger with a 400 that the reluctor( chryslers word for the star wheel)clearance was off, I used a new electronic kit that had a new pickup and reluctor and it solved my problem. also check the wires going into the distributor for chaffing and grounding out. check the coil too.
