Not that it is a big deal, but they are not split rims. Satety lock-ring wheels is more like it.
I sandblast assembled & aired-up wheels all the time, no problems. Works good for getting off any overspray, too. Most rust is on the inside, however, so don't pass up an opportunity to do it if you have them broken down. DG
